I don't think that will help, this is probably in the heritage from Bush Sr, 
who argued at the UN Rio de Janario conference:" the lifestyle of the US is 
not negotiable".

Besides their lifestyle is based on cars, and to them they run a longer 
distance on one gallon than on one liter.
