I still have this bug, on a Mandriva 2006.0, even though I disabled acpi,
disabled logrotate, restart X more than once a day (so is this really a
logrotate-related problem?)
Very high cpu usage in X - up to 95% when typing in kmail... the system is
unusable.
What's the actual fix for this problem? (the above comments hint that the
updated rpms don't really fix the problem completely - or do they?)

logrotate X server loops reading from UNIX socket and getting EOF. Apparently
logrotate restarts some program writing to this socket. This results in X
consuming over 70% of CPU; at least here it makes any work impossible.
