No, as those new laptops will have alsa drivers, and mplayer deals well with 
alsa.
arts is only for kde.
We will have to test this.
Götz, could you build a version without arts, and put it on main/testing on 
cooker?:
And we will then test if it doesn't break kmplayer as Laurent says.
