Resolved by what patch then?
What happens if you delete kscdrc? Does an AudioSystem= entry get created and added?
If not, do a search to find out which of the global config files in your dir, or in 
/etc/ (or maybe even elsewhere?) has such an entry (it will 
try those after the file in the homedir). Perhaps some application or update fixed this. 
But not on my system (and on other peoples, I saw a message on a mailinglist about this 2 
days ago).

It is possible that some other application creates this entry and so fixes kscd. But only 
someone for which it works can figure out what configfile is responsible.

but the good way is :
 media:/hdc
