------- Comment #4 from dennis@utiba.com 2006-08-01 01:08 -------
I just use ldap and digest-md5 authentication.

I have never tried the mount --bind option (didn't know it was possible..).

The problem would only occur when the auxprop ldapdb was called. From memory,
it could never find libldapdb.so. From my perspective I never actually made
postfix run chroot'd but it seems msec changes the master.cf file (which
totally threw me for awhile). So I was thinking that there was a bug in the
code itself.

Here are the sasl packages installed (I compiled these rpms from source when
the packages failed).
cyrus-sasl-digestmd5-2.1.21-1
cyrus-sasl-2.1.21-1
cyrus-sasl-devel-2.1.21-1
cyrus-sasl-debug-2.1.21-1
cyrus-sasl-ldapdb-2.1.21-1

Anyway your 'mount --bind' option might work better in this circumstance. Once
the /usr/lib/sasl2 directory was copied to /var/spool/postfix/usr/lib/sasl2 it
worked fine. Even if there were some installation directions in the package
discription would be handy. When you turn msec on through the gui it doesn't
tell you it chroots postfix.

If you need any other info let me know.

When you install the libsasl2-plug-ldapdb rpm it doesn't create the sasl2
directory in /var/spool/postfix/usr/lib/ directory. The postfix rpm installs
with postfix chrooted and requires the above library when you use smtpd auth
with auxprop ldapdb in the /etc/postfix/sasl/smtpd.conf.
