------- Comment #3 from anne.nicolas@mandriva.com 2006-03-31 18:56 -------
I use netprofile on 2006 official. I can easily manage net configuration but it
does not work at all with services.

I provide different services profiles in I want some of services not to be
started. So I do note create file in this directory.

Each time I reboot, I can find my previous configuration in
/etc/netprofile/profiles/name_profile/services but as a miracle all services
that were not there but in /etc/init.d have been recreated. So netprofiles are
unusable.

So same conclusion

1) Net profile does not operate in an atomic way. If it gets interrupted for
some reason of if it gets started twice simultaneously, orrible things may
happen, like having one profile copied on top of another. For instance I have a
profile called HOME and another one called WORK. For some reasons, it happened
to me a few times to have the HOME profile copied onto the WORK profile.

2) Net profile gets totally wrong at starting/stopping services. Why does it try
to start hplip every time, without stopping it before? Why does netprofile leave
vmware in an unusable state so that one has to manually issue a service vmware
restart?
