Hi,

I have character sets problems with gedit (e.g. it saves new files in utf-8 but
then reopens them in iso-8859-15). I have opened two distincts bug in the Gnome
bugzilla (see below) and after discussing it with the people there, it seems it
could be a problem with a patched gedit shipped by Mandriva which makes it use
the user's locale by default instead of utf-8.

If it is, then it would be good to either fix or remove the patch, because it
yields very annoying problems.
