------- Comment #17 from kelk1@comcast.net 2005-08-31 22:41 -------
To #15: The grp stuff is to be able to shift between us and russian characters.
When I press the two shift keys, the scroll lock LED lits up and it types a
gamma when I press the g key (that's the phonetic part in XkbVariant). If you
only use the us layout (in XkbLayout), you do not need more than the compose
key in XkbOptions.

To #14: I could only count 104 keys on my keyboard. I also tried to set intl
instead of basic in XkbVariant, but it throws an error in the log about the
right alt key, and I prefer the basic settings. I think the only significant
change is the layout switch from en_US to us. You guys can try to remove the
XkbVariant line. I would bet it will not change anything.

description:
I ran 'urpmi --auto-select' Tuesday night (and again last night) and no longer
do some shift keys work correctly in IceWM and KDE. I can reset X with
ctrl-alt-BS or type caps in Konsole or Mozilla, but I cannot shift to a VC from
X with ctrl-alt-F[1-6], and no shift keys I have tried while running mc in
Konsole work at all (e.g. I can't copy with shift-F5 or renmov with shift-F6).
All shift keys I tried in runlevel 3 are OK, and also in KDM to login.
