rereading this bug report again it looks like your complaint is that you don't want \
synaptics mouse driver. but you want your touchpad be handled by the default PS/2 \
driver. Am i correct?

Up until this week, the middle mouse button on my MPC Transport X1000 touchpad
acted like a middle mouse button.  With the introduction of explicit synaptics
support in Xorg, it now causes some kind of scrolling behavior.

I'm making this MAJOR since it seems to be a significant breakage fairly late in
the release cycle.
