ah ?! this happened in Mandrake 10 Official as well ? Are you sure ? For me it 
only happened with 10rc1 (hence only a testing release), it took me time to 
realize I had this problem too as I do not boot often windoze...

From my understanding here are short answers to your points 
1. have XP / install 10rc1 
2. not installing XP or not installing 10rc1 ;-) 
3. wait till correction :-( 
4. fix furnished with drakxtools release 
5. it did not concern official release AFAIK, even though documentation for it 
appeared in the proposed errata :

This is more of a support question, so you may post a thread on 
linuxquestions / mandrakeexpert (for example) and (exceptionally) give back 
the URL here so that the resolution can happen in a more appropriate place. 
 
I understand your concern as you may be afraid of losing data :-( but I'm sure 
you'll understand that bugzilla is not the proper place to discuss it.

Hi, I have nforce 2, and windows xp.
Yesterday I installed mdk 10 rc1, but afther I cant boot to windows! Windows wos
on an fat32 disk, and I use lilo. When I try too boot with lilo I only got an
black screen, but I can boot to mdk. I did try to solve this by installing
windows in "recover" and in upgrade but the same thing hapends. 

Now I have formated and install windows xp on ntfs, and installing mandrake
again, and upgraded mdk with uninett. But it xp wont boot, so I try to use grub,
when I boot now, I got this msg.
