nope, none of them worked for me at install

mkinitrd seems to respawn very fast judging by the output of top.
There's make-initrd, mkinitrd and then an additional new mkinitrd every
few seconds, with lots of new awk which eventually is marked <defunct>
and then the cycle starts again with a new mkinitrd.
