Hi,

My cd-writer does not work anymore with kernel 2.4.18-18mdk

In dmesg I have this output:
hdg: PLEXTOR CD-R PX-W8432T, ATAPI CD/DVD-ROM drive

and

SCSI subsystem driver Revision: 1.00
hdg: Disabling (U)DMA for PLEXTOR CD-R PX-W8432T
scsi0 : SCSI host adapter emulation for IDE ATAPI devices
  Vendor: PLEXTOR Model: CD-R PX-W8432T Rev: 1.07
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02

In /etc/fstab, I have:
/dev/scd0 /mnt/cdrom2 iso9660
iocharset=iso8859-1,nosuid,exec,user,ro,noauto,nodev,codepage=850 0 0

When trying to mount the device I get:
[root@Jupiter frederik]# mount /mnt/cdrom2
mount: special device /dev/scd0 does not exist

[root@Jupiter frederik]# mount -t iso9660 /dev/hdg /mnt/cdrom2
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hdg,
or too many mounted file systems
(could this be the IDE device where you in fact use
ide-scsi so that sr0 or sda or so is needed?)

The this message is in /var/log/kernel/errors:
Jun 4 16:06:33 Jupiter kernel: ide-scsi: hdg: unsupported command in
request queue (0)

cdrecord does not work either:
[root@Jupiter frederik]# cdrecord -scanbus
Cdrecord 1.11a24 (i586-mandrake-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2002 Jörg
Schilling
cdrecord: No such file or directory. Cannot open '/dev/pg*'. Cannot open
SCSI driver.
cdrecord: For possible targets try 'cdrecord -scanbus'. Make sure you
are root.

Frederik Himpe
