Assuming that the "lists" subdirectory is where the acl subscription
file is held, your wrapper is incorrectly owned. You have to allow
access to the lists directory (owned by majordom, and group majordom)
by the wrapper (currently and incorrectly setuid daemon, setgid
wheel). The wrapper must be made suid to majordomo, or setgid to
majordomo will also work. If you change the uid, you will have to add
majordom to the list of trusted users in the sendmail.cf file.

If you look at the mail queue using mailq, you will see the subscribe
request staying in the queue for 10 minutes (see the FAQ for an
explanation of this problem and the fix). If you look in the mail
spool directory (usu. /var/spool/mqueue) you will find an xf file that
corresponds to the stalled majordomo job. If you look in there you
will see error messages from the run. Those should also point to the
correct answers in the FAQ.
