Not that I recall, I may have asked if it could be done.
This idea seems easier:
Identifiy the spam messages but don't delete them (yet). This keeps
the message count from going backwards. Now you only have to scan the new
messages that come in from the last known messages.
A command line parameter needs added to mailfilter.
For example in my cron job I call mailfilter every 5 minutes as part of
running korn (shows how many messages there are in my inbox down in the
corner of my screen). Mailfilter would NOT delete the messages in this type
of job.
Now when I pick up the mail with what ever email program I use, I run
mailfilter with the command line option --delete_messages. Now it really
sends off the dele# command to the server with the numbers that it has
learned from the accumulated runs.
Before it does this it also checks for fresh spam before the message count
changes from the deletes.
In a different mater, I've not had the time to try out the new windows stuff.
Any one else out there can take this over? If not I'll get to Real Soon Now,
about two weeks from now it looks like.
