Thanks very much  for your reply, Chris.

I have Xcode and command line tools, both at v 10.0, updated on Wed 19 Sept 2018.

I get exactly the same output here for ‘clang —version', also for \
‘/usr/bin/clang', which is what the CMake command in my build-script is using.

I shall dig further when I have some time.
