Hi,

So a long time ago, back when dinosaurs ruled the Earth and gcc_select
and friends were standalone scripts, a non-root user was able to use
command-line options to e.g. gcc_select to set up their own
~/opt/local/... area into which gcc_select would put the correct links
such that putting ~/opt/local/bin into the front of one's PATH would
enable a single user to use a particular gcc by default without
disturbing other users on the system. I understand that port select is
the way to do things now, but I've been unable to find a way to make
port select behave the same way. Is this even possible any more? If so,
could someone tell me how? If not, could this feature be re-added somehow?

Thanks for any help,
Chris.
