 UPD: Spend hours trying to build `ghc` 7.7 with variety of settings, and
 could not get past building `Float` in final stage. It always ends with
 `internal error: evacuate(static): strange closure type`.

 Judging from some seemingly related tickets, this is a bug in compiler
 itself, so may not be fixable:

 annex.branchable.com/bugs/internal_error__58___evacuate__58___strange_closure_type/

 I will skip 7.7–7.8 and try building 7.10, where the bug might have been
 fixed (of course, ppc case is unknown).
