This is true.

"use_autoreconf yes" will still have the effect that it will cause MacPorts to run \
autoreconf prior to running ./configure. And if autoreconf does not exist, for \
example due to the autoconf port not being installed due to the dependency being \
overwritten, then the port will fail at the configure phase.
