Regarding upper case after dots in strings like 'ibid.' etc.: You have
to use the optional argument to the cite command for this, e.g.
\cite[cfr.][]{FaustiniBraga}, then 'ibid.' or 'id.' don't get
capitalized. You can also achieve this from within LyX. See the
documents (both .lyx and .bib) below:
