'double spacing'

Hello,

         I wrote my thesis using Lyx, when I submitted my thesis- the proof reader
         said that this was not double spaced although i set it to double spacing...

         the proof reader told me that he has a template and this does not match
         that one. 

         Is thier anyway that i can reconfigure the double spacing parameter....
         
         Any help is appreciated, I have already crossed my deadline for submission
         but have given me a couple of days as grace period......
