I've just built lyx CVS on :

r306:876 uname -a
SunOS r306 5.8 Generic_108528-05 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-1
r306:877 gcc -v
Reading specs from /opt/gcc-2.95.2/lib/gcc-lib/sparc-sun-solaris2.7/2.95.2/specs
gcc version 2.95.2 19991024 (release)                                                 \

and it creates files just fine. Should I close the empty-file bug ?
