Perhaps when 'z' is used during a download Lynx could prompt the user
to "S)top downloading or B)ackground download?" If the user chooses (B),
Lynx would stop polling and move to the background. If it can't move to
the background by itself (because of OS limitations?), then it could still
stop polling and instead give a message to the user that it is OK to press
^Z to send Lynx to the background.
