If you have a stripe spanning multiple OSTs, it will allocate objects on each OST. \
Until you write data to them, they will be empty.

In your example, only 100KB of data will be written to disk.

Hi,

If I have a file of say 100KB and my stripe size is set to 1MB, how does Lustre write \
it to the OST? Does it pad the file to make it of 1MB or just writes 100KB of file?
Please explain.

Thanks,
Prakrati
