Hi Evan,
	The simple answer to your question is that I have not encountered this error in my \
testing of the cobd. I am currently working on the lfsck tool but I do need as a \
matter of some urgency to update the b_cobd branch from b_devel and retest. I \
presume that you are using the qswnal for your work? I would submit a bug to \
bugzilla along with the stack trace from the failing case along with any additional \
information that you have including the debug logs. I will try and see if I can \
recreate the failure you describe with the cobd and get back to you.

-Liam

Subject: Lustre COBD driver

Liam,

I have been working on writing a obd driver for lustre that would sit
ontop of the current obdfilter driver and pass all requests through to
the lower level, similar to the the current CVS code for the cobd. I
have mostly got it configured and running in a lustre mount, small
operations(touch,echo>) seem to work fine, but large(dd/cp) operation
fail with a very strange portals error.

Can you tell me the status of your work on the cobd driver?

Can you possibly update the p_cobd branch to reflect the current code
base you are using, or possibly send the code as you have it now?

Did you run into similar problems in your work with Portals, and can you
tell me what the solution was?

The specific error i am seeing is:
(niobuf.c:44:ptl_send_buf()) ASSERTION(portal != 0) failed
(module.c:70:kportal_assertion_failed()) LBUG

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Evan
