Hi Peter,
I have looked again at tmpfs and the changes made in the 2.5 kernel that support the \
"missing" functionality and these as they stand are dependant on quite a number of \
other changes in the 2.5 kernel. So at this stage I do not think that I can just \
bring these changes back to the 2.4 kernel. I am trying to see if there is another \
solution but if you have any thoughts I'd appreciate them.

I think it would be easiest to some changes to 2.4 unless you want to
be involved in maintaining a very fast moving target..
