My apology that I am posting this to make the problem known to the
LTSP developers although I am not part ot the team.

I have a unique problem with my workstation (ws003, PI 166Mhz with
24MB RAM). The booting in the ws003 goes fine but get stuck and does
not proceed after the follwoing lines:

=================================
Running /linuxrc
Mounting /proc
linuxrc: Installing 8139too driver
modprobe 8139too
/sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.4.26-ltsp-2/kernel/lib/crc32.o
Using /lib/modules/2.4.26-ltsp-2/kernel/lib/crc32.o
Symbol version prefix ''
/sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.4.26-ltsp-2/kernel/drivers/net/mii.o
Using /lib/modules/2.4.26-ltsp-2/kernel/drivers/net/mii.o
/sbin/insmod /lib/modules/2.4.26-ltsp-2/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o
Using /lib/modules/2.4.26-ltsp-2/kernel/drivers/net/8139too.o
8139too Fast Ethernet driver 0.9.26
======================================

I did the following to correct the problems:

1) I tried to locate a solution on the net and found several people
posting the same at
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=1953785 ,
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=195659  and
http://www.mail-archive.com/ltsp-discuss@lists.sourceforge.net/msg08048.html
but none of them has any solutions

2) Added USE_NFS_SWAP=Y and SWAPFILE_SIZE =64M in lts.conf, didn't
work (suggested by sudev)

3) Added (as per suggestion of Jim)

      option option-128     e4:45:74:68:00:00;       # NOT a mac address
      option option-129     "NIC=ne IO=0x300";

but it simply failed saying that wrong NIC specifications. So, the
lines are deleted again.

4) Changed the etherboot image from rom-o-matic from rtl8139 to
rtl8139b, but the error remained as earlier.

However, Jim is of opinion that it should simply work. Jim is kind
enough to verify dhcpd.conf for the same.

5) Last, but not least I just changed the NIC card (or in better
words, swapped the NIC of the server (perfectly working) with the
ws003 and vice versa as per the suggestion of Jim), yet it lands at
the same NIC module problem as stated in the beginning. :-(

Help solicited. I desperately need to make this work (Jim know why?)
Thanking you for your invaluable time and continued cooperation.
