Hi List,

I've got a really weird problem here. My printing scenario looks
like this:

------------------
| Win98 Desktops | ----------------------- ----------------------
|   w/ Netware   | -> | Netware Print Queues| -> | Unix (lpd or lprng)|
| Client | | using lpr_gwy | ----------------------
-----------------| ----------------------| |
                                                        |
                                                        V
                                                     Printers

* The jobs must pass through the netware queue since I get the usernames
  there.
* I'm using lpd or lprng w/ filters for accounting, so I can send or not
the jobs to the printer, based on quotas by user.

Using the vintage berkeley lpd, problems like sending the jobs to the
wrong queue or printer happens every day, so I switched to lprng,
which solved those annoying bugs.
Everything was perfect, till the first netware server abend. The problem
was in lpr_gwy, which didn't give me diagnostic messages :/
The abends occurred in an asyncronous way. So, tired of rebooting the
server, I switched again to berkeley lpd.

Using lpd I'm seeing some messages on the netware console, like this:
"Job number 3cdf4x to host my.print.server for printer hp-111 will
 not be sent.
Reason: FILE ____ is of ZERO lenght"

With LPRng, instead of this message I was getting an abend of the module.
Well, think that's all I can forward to you.

Thanks in advance,
Leonardo
