Perhaps something like this? (not tested in Capa)
<m>\(\LARGE
\newcommand*{\strikethrough}{\rule[0.5ex]{3em}{0.5pt}\hspace{-3em}}
\frac{(x-2)\strikethrough(x+2)}{(x+2)\strikethrough(x+2)}\)</m>
I added '\(' and '\)' at the beginning and end of the element. I believe
they are required.
If it works for you, use the parameters of the \rule command to adjust
the display of the stroke.
