For those interested in using this receiver, a clarification:
application and hostname aren't params in the receiver config - they are event \
properties (see the JavaDoc for an explanation of how to specify them in the SQL).

I give up - so where do I set the application and hostname params. It
seems that I can get the SQL connection up and running
(no error msgs when the PuTTY terminal to the db is running) but events are
just not being displayed
