The service-config package is a collection of utilities for creating
services to run under svscan. The utilites are

service-config: generic service configuration
rules-config: generic service access rules configuration

svscan-config: generic service configuration

ipc-config: service configuration for ipcserver
ipcx-config: service configuration for ipcserver with access rules

tcp-config: service configuration for tcpserver
tcpx-config: service configuration for tcpserver with access rules

For more information, please see the service-config home page:

The mere existence of svscan-config will undoubtedly cause someone to
ask "Why run a second instance of svscan?" Here is my answer.

I configure one instance of svscan per the daemontools installation
procedure, and use svscan-config to create a second instance, running
it under the first, and working in the directory /service2. While
developing services, I install them in /service2 and move them into
/service only after they become stable. Running immature services
under a supervised svscan makes it easier to accommodate changes that
sometimes occur, for example, adding or removing logging from a
particular service.
