Hi,

Thanks for help !

In our case, the client IP are not proxied or N:1 NATing, but sometimes nodes are \
flapped. However, I think after a while BIGIP should be evenly balance traffic again \
after node coming back. In our case, it doesn't. It is quite strange.
When we used Alteon, we don't have this problem.

Thanks !
Jian

I know we have seen this unequal distribution only because a certain set of nodes \
were flapping at random periods of the day. I take it you have ruled out the \
mega-proxy issue (all clients masked behind a proxy). Not sure how the F5 algorithm \
for Least Conn is calculated, but it could be your connections are coming in/dropping \
out at a burst, thus landing on one or 2 nodes.

Subject: [load balancing] [BIGIP] LeastConn with Source IP persistence

Hello, all

We are using BIGIP 3400 v9.1.1 to balance HTTP traffic. When using LeastConn, the \
connections are distributed to each pool member evenly. However, after adding \
source-IP persistence, the connections (and load) are not balanced. Usually one or \
two pool members carry 2 times of connection(load) than others. Anybody encounter \
same problem ? Any suggestion to solve it.
BTW, the number of client IP is more than 3000 IP,and client IPs are consecutive. \
Persistence is obligatory for our product.
Thanks !
Jian
