Hi "darkvoidboy",

there is a keepalive script installed with WebNS called 'ap-kal-httptag' (or
something) which does exactly that.
It takes three parameters:
1) IP address of HTTP service to connect to (e.g. 172.16.3.18)
2) the URI without the Host: header attached (e.g. /testpage.html)
3) the Host: header you want the script to supply (e.g. serverX.blah.com)

this works fine for us.

Grtz,
Ramses Rodenburg.

P.S. this is really all in the docs - and more. I highly recommend reading
those... ;o)

Subject: [load balancing] CSS service keepalives using FQDN vs. IP address

I am trying to configure a service on a CSS to use a domain name instead of
the server IP (a requirement of an application, not my choice):

So, I want the keepalive to test:

http://serverX.blah.com/testpage.html
<http://serverX.blah.com/testpage.html>

instead of:

keepalive uri "/testpage.html"

Is this possible with escape characters, losing the quotes, etc.? Or do I
need to investigate scripted keepalives instead? Any pointers very much
appreciated while I wait to get equipment set up in the lab...

Thank you,

--DVB
