Right. I should have made more than an off-the-cuff response. I haven't had a chance to investigate this myself, but the consensus (sp?) has been that it was not a 1394 subsystem problem, but rather something else that changed between 2.4.19 and 2.4.20.
I don't remember what the exact speculation was, though.
