Hello -

I've been seeing the following message logged in - /var/log/syslog - and -
/var/log/kern.log -
whenever I try to use a disk via the FireWire connection on my laptop. I've
read a number of
posts on this that give the impression that the problem was being worked on
(as back in March, 2012).
But being that I am running a fairly recent version of the OS I'm curious
as to its current status.

Here are my particulars:

Dell Precision M4600 Laptop
Ubuntu Studio:
$ uname -a
Linux patrick-Precision-M4600 3.2.0-37-lowlatency-pae #37-Ubuntu SMP
PREEMPT Mon Jan 28 13:58:42 UTC 2013 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux
$

>From /var/log/syslog:
Feb 15 18:17:46 patrick-Precision-M4600 kernel: [  483.857368]
firewire_ohci: Register access failure - please notify
linux1394-devel@lists.sf.net

$ ls -l /dev/fw* /dev/sd*
crw------- 1 root root 251, 0 Feb 15 18:10 /dev/fw0
brw-rw---- 1 root disk   8, 0 Feb 15 18:10 /dev/sda
brw-rw---- 1 root disk   8, 1 Feb 15 18:10 /dev/sda1
brw-rw---- 1 root disk   8, 2 Feb 15 18:10 /dev/sda2
brw-rw---- 1 root disk   8, 5 Feb 15 18:10 /dev/sda5
$

Any ideas?

Thanks, in advance!
