FWIW the PPC arch usually is pretty solid on the 2.4.x series.  But I 
understand the importance of validation testing.

I'll have this fixed in the next release.

I don't recall when ext3 was merged in, but I know I was using it since 
2.4.5.  There should be patches for 2.4.10, but obviously I recommend a 
newer kernel.  One could remove the journal inode, effectively switching 
the fs back to ext2 though.

If it builds cleanly, it'll run.

This should be possible with the current -pre19 makefiles, but 
integrating the build may be a PITA.

Who knows -- it may work, it may not.   It depens on the host controller 
driver.. but the USB core itself had many, many, mayn fixes.  I dn't 
believe linux-wlan-ng was too reliable with USB until ..2.4.20, maybe?
