Darn, my apologies for this oversight. Must be the medications fighting 
my cold :). You are of course correct.

What happens if you disable the check method in your ldirectord 
configuration?

I don't have time right now to have a deeper look, but could you please 
compare your version of ldirectord with the following (or send me your 
version in private), and if this one is newer, try it on your setup?
