Hi,

thanks for your response.
I have to unload both modules just unloading one doesn't take the load away. If After \
unloading them both i just modprobe one of them the load starts again. doesn't matter \
which module i load of those 2.

i unloaded all modules and then the ir_common module, but when ever i load either \
cx8800 or cx88_alsa again the ir_common module is also loaded again. so i can't \
really say what effect this has.

I looked at /cat/intterupts and here are 2 snapshots taken with some time between \
them (5-10 minutes i didn't time it)

1st one :

whats weird is that irq 17 stays constant and i see cx88[0] listed there so perhaps \
it's not related to the modules ? but isn't it weird that the load goes away when \
unloading the cx88_alsa & cx8800 modules ?

I tried compiling a new kernel yesterday to see if the problems would have been \
solved by it but my sound card didn't work anymore with the new kernel, perhaps i \
misconfigured something with the kernel options i don't know but a lot of things \
wouldn't work anymore after doing this so i can't really tell if it was fixed or not \
and i had to reinstall ubuntu.

cheers
willems davy
