Alex,

I don't want to be contra-productive, but:

I got this kernel in a distribution just 2 weeks ago from a 
distributor over here.
As the linux-box is a stand-alone machine and not connected to the 
internet, I guess the need to update for reasons of security is not 
that sort of urgent..

I simply have the problem with the act of patching, because the 
program asks for the file to patch, which doesn't seem to exist...

I think my problem is OT in the maillist, I asked because I cannot 
find info 'howto' in on special point.
Because the file originates from the video4linux (bytesex) site, I 
dared to ask about...
