Subject: Re: [tulip] Driver conflicts - force loading dmfe after tulip? - SOLVED

Found a solution:

* Make sure dmfe is loaded BEFORE the tulip driver, and switch the
cables (since "old" eth1 now becomes eth0 and "old" eth0 now becomes
"eth1"). This is done by making sure dmfe is listed before tulip/3c59x
in modules.conf .

I have not been able to confirm that this solves the problem with the
Davicom using the tulip driver under load problem, but at least I know
the Davicom driver is being loaded (and probably) used. Also, my "old"
eth1 side of the net has less traffic, so chances are I will not be bit
by the "under load" issue anyway, since Davicom now serves the
low-traffic part of my network.
