With the AC cord plugged in, everything is normal.

But with only the battery and (even fresh) CR2032 battery, my Thinkpad
R50e gives CMOS checksum errors which means I have to enter the date
again at each boot after poweroff. This also adds an additional disk
spin-down/up.

I guess I will just have to live with it.
