Seems that 40 GB HD is dying: doesn't start when laptop power on. I need to
accept 2-4 BIOS HD error and then disk start. When start, work fine.

I'm looking for a new disk, and have one doubt: This BIOS laptop can «see»
more than 40 GB?

Details:

ThinkPad R40 2681-HSG

$ sudo hdparm -i /dev/hda

/dev/hda:
