The symbol was "NFS_MOUNT_LOCK" and I probably picked it
up from CVS moments before DaveM came to the rescue, so it
should be cool now and it jibes with what I had thought a
typo:

    bash-2.02$ cvs diff -r 1.53 nfsroot.c
    Index: nfsroot.c
    ========================================================
    RCS file: /cvs/linux/linux/fs/nfs/nfsroot.c,v
    retrieving revision 1.53
    retrieving revision 1.54
    diff -r1.53 -r1.54
    148c148
    <       { "lock",       ~NFS_MOUNT_LOCK,        0 },
    ---
