Hi everybody,
I'm having problems with my smp-box. In fact I have 2 problems, one with 2.2.x \
kernels
and another with 2.4.0-testx kernels.
First, 2.2.x :
The kernel runs fine, but when running Xfree (3 or 4), my cpu load is always \
comprised
between 20% and 40%... even when doing NOTHING (just running X)
So, I tryed linux-2.4.0-test7 and test8, and I got a new problem (but I haven't the X \
problem anymore) :
I often have this kind of line in my kern.log :
Sep 17 19:43:40 orion kernel: APIC error on CPU0: 02(02)
Sep 17 19:50:59 orion kernel: APIC error on CPU0: 02(02)
Sep 17 19:55:03 orion kernel: APIC error on CPU0: 02(02)
Sep 17 20:02:42 orion kernel: APIC error on CPU0: 02(02)
even in console mode (no X running)... and finally, my box crashes after 2 days of \
uptime (or less).
Here are the useful informations about my running 2.4.0-test8 kernel:
[killer@orion linux]$ sh ./scripts/ver_linux
-- Versions installed: (if some fields are empty or look
-- unusual then possibly you have very old versions)
