I used these commands:

tar zxvf gcc-2.95.tar.gz
mkdir obj
cd obj
../gcc-2.95/configure --prefix=/usr --with-gxx-include-dir=/usr/include/g++ \
--enable-shared --enable-cpp --enable-threads make CFLAGS='-O2' LIBCFLAGS='-g -O2' \
LIBCXXFLAGS='-g -O2 -fno-implicit-templates' bootstrap

su

make CFLAGS='-O2' LIBCFLAGS='-g -O2' LIBCXXFLAGS='-g -O2 -fno-implicit-templates' \
install
