Hi,
I am using a dual pentium 166, on a Tyan Tomcat IV SMP mother board. =
If I attempt to play an MP3, the computer locks up. But I can play a =
couple of .au files before it locks up. If I disable SMP in the kernel, =
it works fine, MP3s and all. I have tried both the kernel drivers, and =
the commercial OSS drivers. (BTW I have gotten sound to work in NT 4.0)
Here are my specs:
Dual 166 on a Tyan Tomcat IV motherboard
48 Megs of memory
Creative Labs Sound Blaster AWE 32
Linux v. 2.2.2 (I have tried other kernel versions, and sound doesn't =
work with SMP)
RedHat 5.2
