For the first time since switch to 2.1.x kernel (with 2.1.88) i got
a real problem...

My system enter in panic state in the first stage of boot, just when it
should init the io_apic irqs.

This is what console report (manually copied):

The box is an ASUS P54NP4D with 2 P133 stepping 12
- 64 Mb ram 
- 1 HD ide 4G
- S3 Virge 4M
- 3Com Vortex 
- SoundBlaster AWE64
- Adaptec AHA2940UW with
  1 HD 4G
  1 streamer Tandberg
  1 worm cd driver

I would underline that until 2.1.110 (from i switch to 2.1.112) system
had no problem,
io-apic in particular was simply perfect.
If someone needs some other info or want me to make some test, feel free
