Ok,

So now, after seeing the numbers from bonnie, I need something to
compare it to, as 5+ MB/sec on an ultra wide BusLogic 958 holding
two drives: Micropolis 4345WS and Quantum XP34301.
The driver sets the Micropolis to Sync 20.0 mega-xfers/sec and the
Quantum to Sync 10.0 mega-xfers/sec.

Do these numbers sound right ?

(Micron Dual PPro 200, 96Mb EDO RAM, 2.0.32, almost no load while
 testing (about 0.03)).
