Subject line says it all, since I upgraded to a SMP box I get

One message for each id, 1 through 7 but the Jaz is never found.  After
all seven messages system starts normally, only without the SCSI stuff.

System is a 

P6DNF Rev 1.2  BIOS NA7081
PPro200/256K x 2 Stepping 9
Adaptec based 'Zip Zoom' card at 0x140,12
External Jaz, id:4 on supplied cable.  Only SCSI device.
