about IO-APIC
Hardware : ms6368
Distro: Suse 7.1 ( Ok, rather obsolete)
Kernel still "out of the box"
( I need a development system, not developing kernels)

I get a message you might be interested about the IO-APIC in
the boot messages. Perhaps it has also got to influence on
my problem with an ISA serial multiport card wich I cant get
working properly. This card is an Moxa CI123 dual 16550A,
using its dedicated driver mxser.
cat /proc/interrupts |nicetxt

8:     IO-APIC-edge  rtc
10:    IO-APIC-level eth0
11:    IO-APIC-level eth1
14:    IO-APIC-edge  ide0
15:    IO-APIC-edge  ide1
NMI: big count
LOC: big count
ERR:  0

I hope you can do something with this.
