Hi,

First, you should include your kernel version number,
and maybe what distro & version you are using.
And what your hardware platform is, especially what chipset
and/or IO APICs are being used.

I'm guessing that you are using RH 7.1, just because it
causes some kernel messages regarding the IO APIC not to be
printed, like we (don't) see here.

Linux 2.4.16 or 2.4.17 (I don't recall exactly which one, so
get/try/use 2.4.17) handles all IO APICs that I know of,
without complaining about them.  And the messages that you
see here are just noise anyway.
